Job Opportunity: Data Control Analyst at Central Bearings & Machinery (Pvt) Ltd
Location: Warehouse & Head Office – Seeduwa
Central Bearings & Machinery (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Stock Control Data Analyst to join our team. This hybrid role combines Procurement and Stock Control Analysis, designed to streamline both functions and eliminate inefficiencies in inventory management. You will play a critical role in ensuring the right items are ordered at the right time – eliminating overstocking, preventing stockouts, and directly influencing purchasing and warehousing strategies based on robust data insights.
Core Analytical & Forecasting Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze historical stock movement data to identify consumption patterns and seasonal trends.
- Continuously calibrate reorder levels by evaluating lead times, consumption rates, and safety stock thresholds.
- Investigate dead stock items to understand stagnation causes and propose strategies like bundling or discounting.
- Categorize inventory into fast, medium, and slow-moving segments using data analytics.
- Generate monthly brand performance reports to track sales fluctuations and assist purchasing and sales decisions.
Strategic & Optimization Responsibilities:
- Analyze current warehouse layout and suggest reorganization strategies to improve picking and replenishment flow.
- Track and analyze return data to identify issues such as dispatch errors or quality concerns, and propose structured improvements.
- Identify and monitor top customers’ recurring needs; maintain a predictive stocking strategy to stay ahead of demand.
- Map bearings to end-use applications—by vehicle type, position, and typical maintenance cycles—to support the sales team with technical data.
- Align with procurement and sales departments for synchronized forecasting, shipment planning, and internal/external order readiness.
- Regularly audit ERP system stock data against physical inventory to ensure accuracy and reduce discrepancies.
Reporting & Communication Duties:
- Compile and present weekly stock level status reports and monthly dashboards on stock turnover and sales trends.
- Maintain and cleanse ERP master data: bearing nomenclature, brand cross references, and dimensional attributes.
- Stay in constant communication with the Procurement Manager to flag low-stock/overstock issues and recommend data-backed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team during inventory counts, receiving, and dispatch workflows.
- Coordinate lead time tracking and restocking plans with the procurement team.
- Work closely with sales to forecast demand spikes and ensure operational readiness.
Mindset & Contribution:
- Exhibit curiosity and initiative to improve all aspects of warehouse operations—from layout to inbound/outbound flow timing.
- Stay informed on global inventory management trends and apply practical improvements locally.
- Maintain a solution-oriented mindset by bringing forward actionable insights rather than reactive feedback.
Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and inventory modeling.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Ability to work across departments and communicate findings clearly to management and team members.
- Comfortable with working in a dynamic, responsibility-driven environment.
- Will be required to coordinate with international suppliers from time to time as part of procurement duties, so strong communication skills in both written and spoken English are essential.

- Preference will be given to candidates residing in Seeduwa, Ja-Ela, Negombo, Minuwangoda, or Raddolugama.
