Finance Controller - Kandy Hotels
We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to oversee financial operations, ensure accuracy in financial reporting, manage budgeting and forecasting processes, maintain compliance with regulations, implement financial controls, analyze financial performance, and provide strategic insights to support decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial efficiency and drive organizational profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to senior management promptly.
- Develop and monitor departmental budgets to meet financial objectives.
- Analyse operational costs to identify reduction areas while maintaining service quality.
- Monitor cash flow to ensure financial obligations are met and investment opportunities are maximized.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits for compliance and completeness.
- Oversee accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance to avoid penalties.
- Conduct regular analysis to identify trends and opportunities for revenue and profitability improvement.
- Manage and mentor the finance team, promoting professional growth and collaboration.
- Establish strong internal controls to protect assets and ensure financial reporting integrity.
- Communicate financial performance and strategies to stakeholders for alignment with business goals.
Candidates should possess:
- Minimum of 5 years in senior management roles within the hospitality industry, specifically in 3- and 4-star properties.
- Membership in a recognized accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or an equivalent finance qualification.
- Proven ability to analyse complex financial information from various sources and create comprehensive reports, forecasts, and projections.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to develop these skills in team members, along with effective staff management and development.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills at all levels, coupled with proficiency in financial software (including Opera, Symphony, and Oracle) and MS Office, along with strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
