Position: Language Course and Examination Officer (01)
- Location: Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka
- Remuneration: According to the local salary scheme of the Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka
- Starting Date: 1 June 2025
- Age Limit: Applicants must be under 40 years of age as of 1 May 2025
Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka is seeking a committed and service-oriented individual to join our Language Department as a Language Course and Examination officer. The position is initially offered on a fixed-term basis until the end of 2026, with the potential for extension based on performance and institutional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the full cycle of enrollments for language courses and examinations, including invoicing and participant administration
- Ordering and handling of examination materials; preparation and technical administration of examinations at Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka and partner institutions
- Providing advisory services to prospective students and exam candidates on the full range of language and examination offerings in Sri Lanka and in Germany
- Handling day-to-day operations of the Language Office
- Issuing official certificates and attestations
- Managing correspondence in German and English (email, social media, postal and other)
- Processing applications and compiling statistical reports in accordance with institutional guidelines
- Conducting market research and evaluating the cost-effectiveness of courses and examinations
Your Profile:
- A bachelor’s degree or similar qualification is essential
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence in interacting directly with clients and via telephone or email
- A very good command of both spoken and written German (B2)
- Strong command of MS Office Package
- Willingness to be trained in Goethe-Institut’s Internal planning instruments
- Strong organizational and coordination capabilities
- A reliable team player with high personal integrity and resilience
- Willingness to work occasional weekends as required
