Junior Executive – Procurement
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers and vendors.
- Collect quotations and conduct basic price negotiations.
- Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in the Business Central system.
- Monitor delivery schedules and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Coordinate with internal departments in order to understand, and supply material and service requirements, documentation and payments related to various activities.
- Assist in preparing procurement reports and documentation for audits.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements, address quality issues with suppliers and take corrective actions, maintain relationships with both local and foreign suppliers and monitor their performance to ensure that quality, delivery, and cost expectations are met.
- Create and manage purchase orders, ensure accuracy and compliance with procurement policies, and maintain thorough and organised records of all procurement transactions and contracts.
- Analyse and evaluate costs associated with procurement, look for cost-saving opportunities, and monitor and control procurement budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
- Stay informed about market trends, industry developments and best practices in procurement, and identify and implement innovative procurement strategies and solutions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of procurement regulations and compliance requirements and ensure procurement activities adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to optimise inventory levels and minimise excess or obsolete stock.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in the procurement process, such as supply chain disruptions or supplier reliability issues.
Personal Profile & Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-2 years’ of experience in a similar role.
- Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office package specially Excel and Outlook.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
