Junior Research Professional
The Centre for Poverty Analysis (CEPA) is a dynamic and independent Think Tank providing professional services on poverty related development issues. CEPA is registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Companies Act of Sri Lanka. CEPA works with a range of organisations, including government agencies, international financial institutions, multilateral agencies, as well as international and local NGOs.
The Social Cohesion & Reconciliation Thematic of The Centre for Poverty Analysis (CEPA) is looking for a self-motivated, energetic individual to undertake research related activities to be a part of the thematic as a Junior Research Professional.
As a Junior Research Professional, you will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
Tasks/responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to contribute to the conceptualisation and implementation of research studies including methodology development, literature reviews, data collection, data analysis, and report writing.
- Contribute to the writing and dissemination of research findings through reports, policy briefs, journal articles, blogs, and other visual material.
- Support in policy influencing and policy shaping through direct engagement or advocacy.
- Coordinate logistics for organising meetings, workshops, trainings and primary data collection.
Qualifications and skills of the successful candidate
- A Bachelor’s Degree in IR/Peace Studies from a recognised university.
- Good research and analytical skills. An academic background in survey and/or research methodologies and prior experience engaging in research will be an advantage.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Tamil or Sinhala (Trilingual proficiency is an advantage).
- Ability to correspond and coordinate with government officials and community representatives.
- Willingness to travel (within the country) on project-related work as needed.
