VACANCY

Sands Active (Pvt) Limited is (a subsidiary of Melwa Group) a BOI approved state of the art pharmaceutical manufacturing company by partnering with the State Pharmaceutical Corporation Sri Lanka with the intention to fulfill local pharmaceutical related demand.

OFFICER - MICROBIOLOGY

Duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental monitoring including SP, AS, SM, PM, compressed gases and personal growing qualification in clean rooms environment as per SOP’s.
  • Preparation and reconciliation of microbiological media in accordance with SOPs.
  • Conducting growth promotion tests for media and culture suspension on regular basis.
  • Calibration / verification of pH meter and analytical balance as per the SOP.
  • Maintaining the good laboratory practice in the Microbiology Laboratory.
  • Performing microbiological tests such as MLT, bioburden and interpreting the results based upon the SOPs.
  • Operation of autoclave for sterilization, decontamination and disinfectant preparation with online documentation.
  • Sampling and analysis of water samples, in-process, raw materials and finished products.
  • Preparation of trend data and reports for water, EM and compressed monitoring results.
  • Ensure strict adherence to SOPs and good documentation practices.
  • To be involved in validation activities like Water validation, Area qualification, Hold Time study, Autoclave validation, Tunnel validation, DHS validation and Media fill validation.
  • Should trained on the following areas: environmental monitoring, sterility, MLT, bioburden / water testing, BET, and disinfectant efficacy, container closure studies, hold time studies, aseptic process simulation, area qualifications and other validation activities etc.
  • Assign tasks as delegated by the Head of Microbiology, including coordination and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Microbiology or equivalent.
  • 01-02 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing microbiology lab or similar laboratory experience.
  • Work experience in a CGMP regulated environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexi hours, split shift and during weekends and holidays.
