Supply Chain Executive

Role Purpose and Summary

The Supply Chain Assistant role is accountable for overall procurement activities related to direct and indirect materials to ensure 100% product availability for a continuous operation. This role holds the primary responsibility to provide effective, efficient and orderly inventory management within various storage locations and to carry out material issuance according to site standard procedure. Ensuring smooth logistics operations and identifying and implementing process improvement projects are also key responsibilities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, maintain and manage a strong base of supply chain and logistics partners to carry out day-to-day supply chain operations of the company
  • Ensure timely supply of all direct and indirect materials in right quality and cost for the company
  • Regularly evaluate supplier performance, quality standards and competitiveness
  • Work with internal departments to review material requirements and delivery lead time to meet the requirements of customers
  • Manage all the stores and stores-related activities which are under the supply chain department according to 5S practices
  • Engage in shipping planning and ensure the delivery processes by coordinating with BOI, Customs and other related authorities
  • Handle import, export and re-exports of the company and ensure the accuracy of the documentation
  • Be involved in day-to-day logistics operations with freight forwarders and transporters
  • Analyse all the inventory and procurement data and provide management information reports to the department manager
  • Achieve the set departmental KPIs and ensure compliance in all supply chain activities

Required Skill Set and Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain Management from a reputed institution
  • Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in similar capacity in a manufacturing industry
  • Excellent knowledge in commercial/logistics functions
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizing and leadership skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Sound knowledge of MS Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure and being driven from within to go beyond
  • Driven by KPIs and process improvements
