Connex Mainframe Assembler Engineer
Location: Australia Or Remote
Employment: Full-time
We’re hiring an experienced Mainframe Engineer with strong skills in Connex, Assembler (HLASM), and Base24 to support and enhance our high-volume transaction systems (ATM/POS/Switching).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Connex + Assembler code on z/OS
- Troubleshoot and enhance payment systems (ATM, POS, Switching)
- Work with ops/infrastructure/engineering teams to ensure platform stability
- Conduct code impact analysis, performance tuning, and support
- Participate in incident response and change management (ITIL)
- Support modernization (API integration, distributed/cloud bridges)
- Document system logic, flows, and support guides
Required Skills & Experience
- Mainframe Languages: Assembler (HLASM), COBOL, JCL
- Systems: Connex, ACI Base24, z/OS
- Tools: TSO/ISPF, SDSF, FileAid, CA7, Control-M
- Protocols: ISO 8583, TCP/IP, MQ
- Version Control: Endevor, Changeman
- Banking Domain: ATM/POS Switching, Merchant Acquiring, EFT
