Sri Lanka Centre for Development Facilitation (SLCDF)

SLCDF is a non-profit, participatory development organization established in 2002, evolving from the Sri Lanka Canada Development Fund project. SLCDF has over 30 years of experience working with more than 3,500 CBOs/small groups and 330 voluntary organizations across 18 districts. The organization provides resources and support to disadvantaged and vulnerable communities with the help of local and international donors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support partner organizations/NGOs to implement and manage the online cash book system.
  • Conduct regular financial verifications of partner organizations, including reviewing vouchers, bills, invoices, and procurement documentation.
  • Provide on-the-job training for staff of partner organizations and SLCDF on financial procedures.
  • Ensure timely submission of monthly financial reports from partner organizations.
  • Assist the process of obtaining quotations from suppliers and vendors for SLCDF’s direct implementation projects.
  • Handle advance settlements and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts.
  • Assist the finance team with day-to-day financial operations.
  • Contribute to bookkeeping, data management, account reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring.
  • Support financial audits and ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Part-qualified in a recognized professional accounting body (e.g., AAT or equivalent) or higher qualification.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information.
