Senior Tax Accountant/Team Lead - Finance

Veracity Group is the global outsourcing arm of St Anthony's Group of Industries, specializing in Business Process Management and Knowledge Process Management Services in key areas of Finance & Accounting, Process Automation, Data Science & AI, Mobility and Customer Experience Services. We cater to a diverse portfolio of clients from the US, UK, Australia, Middle East and Sri Lanka.

We are seeking a detailed-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The role involves end-to-end bookkeeping, payroll processing, and ensuring ATO and ASIC compliance. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, tax returns, and year-end workpapers across various entity types. The ideal candidate will also assist in client management, Xero setup, and support internal processes including document preparation, system maintenance (XPM), and team collaboration. Strong knowledge of Xero, Access Tax, and Australian tax regulations is essential.

The Role

  • Perform bookkeeping and end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Ensure ATO compliance including IAS, BAS, GST, and FBT lodgments.
  • Prepare financial statements using Xero or Access Ledger.
  • Complete year-end workpapers, review financials, and finalize accounts.
  • Prepare tax returns for companies, trusts, SMSFs, and individuals.
  • Manage weekly ASIC matters and respond to ATO communications.
  • Prepare documentation for company incorporations and solvency minutes.
  • Set up and maintain Xero accounts including payroll and ledgers.
  • Assist with ATO audit queries, including Div7A calculations and STP finalization.
  • Review team work, update templates, and manage document signing via PleaseSign.
  • Maintain timesheets and job allocations in XPM and respond to client queries.

The Person

  • An accounting qualification / or relevant degree.
  • Good communication skills/good English — speaking & written skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Highly self-motivated with good engagement, Attention to detail.
  • Being a team player.
  • Experience in working with Australian companies & Australian Tax.
  • Experience in working in Xero.
