Spectra is one of Sri Lanka’s leading providers of end-to-end logistics services encompassing contract logistics, container depot, integrated transportation, and customs brokerage. We meet our customers’ logistics and supply chain needs through a combination of our operational and service excellence and our extensive resources, which include the Spectra Distribution Center at the Spectra Logistics Park in Wattala and a well-equipped container yard with our own vehicle fleet.

Assistant General Manager - Transport

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day transport and project logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategies for entire fleet management, including effective maintenance, route optimization, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee project logistics planning, including heavy lift and oversized cargo movements.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver seamless solutions.
  • Monitor KPIs, budgets, and performance metrics of the Transport Division to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and company policies.
  • Mentor and develop the transport and Project logistics teams to build capability and engagement.
  • Expand and retain the customer base, ensuring a higher level of customer satisfaction in service deliveries.
  • Prepare reports and updates for senior management and key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration; MBA would be a definite advantage.
  • Professional qualifications in Logistics / Project Management would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in transport and project logistics, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
  • Proven expertise managing large fleets, subcontractors, and complex logistics projects.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Transport Management Systems (TMS) and MS Office.
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial approach.
