Aqua Save Technician / Printer 2
Role Purpose and Summary
This role is responsible for the effective operation of a modern waste / effluent treatment plant on site (Aqua Save) and for production of chemical materials for printing processes. The position ensures the site complies with environmental legislation that governs management and disposal of process waste. There are key performance indicators that need to be achieved.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the Aqua Save plant to achieve QCD targets.
- Lead in chemical analysis that supports process improvement, introduction of new additives and new process introduction.
- Maintain high workplace organisation standards in the Aqua Save process.
- Ensure the effective utilisation and cost optimisation of all resources whilst working with total dedication and assisting with other print and pre-press FLMs.
- Liaise with shift FLM and support print machines and other pre-press areas to ensure smooth operation of the print and pre-press department to achieve business requirements.
- Maintain high workplace organisation standards in assigned process and other areas of the department.
- Adhere to daily and weekly machine AM tasks and align with PM requirements as well.
- Ensure proper treatment of waste according to laid down procedures and regulations.
- Do the appropriate testing internally according to SOP and update result.
- Send chemical/water samples to relevant external institutions and collect reports.
- Engage and carry out forklift operations to load waste and arrange deliveries to waste collectors, not only for Aqua Save but also print process operation-related waste and other materials.
Required Skill Set and Qualifications
- A degree in a chemistry-related area from a recognised university.
- 2-3 years exposure in the printing field.
- Good command of English, both written and oral.
- Effective listening skills.
- Interpersonal skills - Ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
- Positive attitude.
- High concern for quality.
- Working experience in MS Office.
