ChildFund Sri Lanka’s programs are guided by four Result Areas: a) Learning, Ensuring access to quality education for all children, b) Livelihood Strengthening: Promoting youth agency, employability, and entrepreneurship, c) Building Sustainability: Fostering community resilience and environmental stewardship, and d) Gender & Disability Inclusion: Advancing economic empowerment for youth with disabilities, accessible infrastructure, and gender mainstreaming. ChildFund Sri Lanka places strong emphasis on long-term, sustainable solutions. This includes promoting environmental stewardship and resilient livelihoods through youth and community ownership, while working closely with government stakeholders to ensure lasting impact and systemic change.
ChildFund Sri Lanka (CFSL) implements a disability-inclusive livelihoods programme aimed at enhancing the employability, economic independence, and social inclusion of youth with disabilities. The programme focuses on providing market-oriented vocational training that equips participants with practical and relevant skills aligned with current labour market demands.
In addition to skills development, the initiative actively engages with employers to promote inclusive hiring practices, raise awareness on the capabilities of persons with disabilities, and reduce stigma and barriers within workplaces. Through partnerships with private sector actors, government institutions, and disability-focused organizations, the programme works to create sustainable and accessible employment pathways. By combining capacity building, advocacy, and job placement support, CFSL seeks to ensure that youth with disabilities are empowered to secure decent work, contribute meaningfully to their communities, and achieve greater self-reliance and dignity.
