Assistant Manager/Senior Executive - Quality Assurance (Meethirigala)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Support and maintain the company’s Quality Assurance, Food Safety, and Environmental Management Systems in compliance with FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, SLS standards, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, customer, and internal quality requirements throughout production and distribution processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, food safety, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and oversee quality control operations to ensure consistent compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate internal, external, customer, and certification audits while ensuring effective closure of non-conformities.
- Develop, implement, review, and monitor QA policies, SOPs, corrective actions, and preventive action plans.
- Identify quality and environmental risks and implement strategic improvement programs.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Supply Chain, R&D, Maintenance, and Operations teams to maintain superior quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance Manager and QA team to achieve departmental objectives and operational excellence.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and ensure effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure strict compliance with hygiene, sanitation, workplace safety, and environmental sustainability practices.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Agriculture Science, Animal Science, or any related discipline from a recognized university.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems, Quality Management systems and Environmental Management Systems.
- Sound understanding of FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Experience in handling certification audits, supplier audits, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple operational priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player.
