Mechanical Engineer – Job Advertisement (Sri Lanka)
Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Sri Lanka (Site-based with travel requirements)
Experience: Minimum 5+ years
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both design and hands-on workshop environments, with the ability to bridge engineering concepts and practical fabrication work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models and detailed engineering drawings
- Interpret and work with technical drawings based on relevant standards
- Support fabrication activities including structural work and piping systems
- Oversee and assist in machine installation and commissioning
- Coordinate between engineering, workshop teams, and management
- Prepare and maintain technical reports and documentation
- Ensure quality, safety, and accuracy in all engineering tasks
- Travel to project sites as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Strong skills in 3D modeling and design software
- Hands-on experience in:
- Welding and fabrication
- Tube bending and sheet metal forming
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- Knowledge of structural and piping systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to travel for site work
