Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve Letters of Demand (LOD) to induce the obligations to repay as the preliminary step to commence legal procedure
- Preparation of pleadings, filing legal actions under MB, DDR, MR & Ejectment cases within the given time to accelerate the recovery process
- Take steps to get the securities realized under provisions of “Recovery of Loans by Banks (Special Provisions) Act no 4 of 1990 “Parate”
- Prepare resolutions for adoption by the Board of Directors, publication of notices and sending notifications to the mortgagor/borrower and finalizing auction sales, coordinating with the auctioneer
- Prepare drafts and execution of deeds such as Condition of Sale, Certificate of Sale and Resale Endorsement relating to the “Parate” process
- Coordinate and arrange necessary documentation and witnesses for conducting trials as and when required, support the motions and applications by the Bank in the Court of Law
- Assist in managing a portfolio of debt recovery cases by tracking case progress, maintaining case files, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal requirements
- Conduct legal research to understand relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices related to recoveries and stay updated on legal developments that may impact the recovery process
Candidate Prerequisites:
- Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public, licensed to practice in English
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized institution (a distinct advantage)
- Minimum 4–5 years of proven experience in a commercial bank, financial institution, or reputable law firm, with exposure to loan and recovery
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Tamil will be an added advantage
- Strong ability to work efficiently in a computerized and digital environment
- A self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and perform under pressure
