Assistant Manager (Research & Development)

Location: Wathupitiwela

Key job functions;

• Lead development of new products from concept to commercialization.
• Improve existing products for quality, cost, shelf life, nutrition or regulatory compliance.
• Conduct formulation trials(lab trials), pilot trials & scale up trials.
• Research new ingredients, processing technologies & market trends & suppliers.
• Assist in designing & optimization of manufacturing process for new products.
• Coordinate plant trials & commissioning runs.
• Work closely with other supportive department.
• Ensure products comply with food safety standards & regulations(Local & export).
• Lead sensory evaluation, shelf life studies & validation.
• Prepare & maintain R&D documentation.
• Prepare technical reports & management updates.
• Lead, train & develop R&D team.
• Prioritize projects based on business strategy.

The ideal candidate should have the following prerequisites;

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science & Technology or related.
• 4-5 years experience in R&D in food industry & 1-2 yrs experience in similar capacity(Assistant Manager - R&D) will be an added advantage.
• Ability to Lead and Guide R&D Team.
