Business Analyst

Office Locations: Colombo & Ja-Ela

We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Business Analyst to join a leading manufacturing organization in Sri Lanka. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is passionate about data-driven decision-making, financial analysis, and business performance improvement. The selected candidate will work closely with the Managing Director and business teams to drive operational excellence and support strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate business processes and internal controls, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Prepare and monitor product costing, cost analyses, and profitability reports, and recommend cost-control and cost-reduction strategies to management.
  • Prepare management reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to support strategic business decisions.
  • Monitor deliverables and ensure the timely completion of projects and tasks assigned by the Managing Director.
  • Conduct business analytics and statistical analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop financial models, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and cost management.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to enhance overall business performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or CIMA qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Professional qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA, CMA, or CA (partly or fully qualified) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in business analysis within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience in product costing and cost analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
  • Strong presentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
