The Colombo Swimming Club, one of Sri Lanka’s premier members’ clubs, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the below position.

Executive Secretary to the General Committee

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to the General Committee.
  • Prepare, record, and maintain accurate minutes of General Committee and sub-committee meetings.
  • Ensure timely circulation of notices, agendas, and meeting minutes in compliance with club rules and resolutions.
  • Maintain proper records, documentation, and correspondence of the Club.
  • Liaise with Committee Members and Management on matters relating to governance and administration.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with the Club’s constitution, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Other Secretarial duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in a similar secretarial or administrative role, preferably in a corporate or members’ club environment.
  • A Management Degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and knowledge of Tamil will be an added advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • A professional qualification in administration/secretarial practice will be an added advantage.

Internal Auditor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit and ensure efficiency and competence of procurement, tenders, supplier management, inventory, receiving, and payment processes.
  • Review adherence to internal controls, policies, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Monitor purchasing, pricing, cost variances, and operational expenditure approvals.
  • Evaluate supplier governance, contracts, and service delivery standards.
  • Review maintenance, engineering, and third-party service operations for compliance and efficiency.
  • Assess accounting processes and financial reporting during monthly and year-end closings.
  • Review HR, IT controls, statutory compliance, and employee documentation.
  • Verify fixed assets through physical inspection and records reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, environmental, and waste management requirements.
  • Perform additional assignments from Audit/Finance Committees.

Qualifications and experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in internal auditing in a recognized mercantile institution and / or a reputed audit firm.
  • Full or part qualifications in finance and accounting from a recognized professional institute.
  • Very good computer skills.
  • An analytical mind and good presentation and report writing skills.
  • Should be a good communicator and the ability to work independently.

Assistant Manager – HR & Legal

Key Responsibilities including (but not limited to):

  • Provide strategic HR support to the onsite management team.
  • To handle all legal matters – lead all disciplinary matters including drafting letters, grievance handling, handling Domestic Inquiries, handling Labour Tribunal matters etc.
  • Ability in Report writing.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Attorney at Law.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on HR experience in Disciplinary handling, Domestic Inquiries, Grievance Management, ideally in a hotel, airline, club or service sector environment with HR decision-making involvement.
  • Experience handling Labour Tribunal matters will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English Language.
  • Analytical skills and experience in people analytics.
  • Experience in handling general contracts and other legal issues.

Senior Executive (Member Relations)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in handling member inquiries and communications.
  • Maintain and update membership records and databases.
  • Support administrative functions related to membership services.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and assist in day-to-day operations.

Requirements:

  • A Management Degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
  • Good communication skills in English (Sinhala/Tamil will be an added advantage).
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office, Email handling).
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in a similar role will be an added advantage.
