Assistant Manager - Finance (Head Office)

Berendina is a group of companies consisting of Berendina Micro Investments Company Limited (BMIC) the first license microfinance company (LMFC) regulated by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, under the Microfinance Act No 06 of 2016 and Berendina Development Services (Gte) Limited (BDS) a leading development organization committed towards alleviating poverty among vulnerable and marginalized communities of rural and plantation areas in Sri Lanka. Berendina group operates in 13 districts through a network of 38 branch offices.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analysis and interpretation of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Liaising with external auditors for the timely and smooth finalization of audited financial statements.
  • Liaising with tax consultants and tax authorities, monitoring and ensuring timely payment and declaration of all relevant taxes and statutory payments.
  • Lead the finance team at the head office and the branch.
  • Coordinate, prepare annual/quarterly financial budget, apply budgetary controls, and improve processes.
  • Efficient and effective Cash flow management, presenting consolidated periodic cash flows.
  • Identify and implement internal control for the smooth finance function of the company.
  • Managing day-to-day finance operations of the company.

Required Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant qualification obtained from a recognized university or institution.
  • Candidates must possess membership or have completed the finalist level of a recognized professional accounting qualification such as ICASL, CIMA, or ACCA.
  • Around 05 years of hands-on experience in a similar capacity covering the above scope in a reputed organization.
  • Sound knowledge in accounting standards (SFLRS / LKAS) and local industry-relevant taxation.
  • Should be a good team player with excellent interpersonal skills, a strong set of values, and leadership qualities.
  • Attention to detail, Problem-Solving mindset, and resilience under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and proficiency in Sinhala/Tamil would be an added advantage.
