Senior Quantity Surveyor – Monitoring Department
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Quantity Surveyor – Monitoring Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets and forecasts.
- Identify cost overruns early and recommend corrective measures.
- Review contractors’ interim payment applications for accuracy and compliance with work progress.
- Prepare monthly cost and progress reports for management and stakeholders.
- Cross-check contractors’ bills of quantities (BOQ) and verify against design drawings and site works.
- Conduct random site inspections to validate completed works.
- Provide regular updates on financial performance, cost trends, and risk areas.
- Ensure all cost monitoring activities comply with company policies and industry standards.
- Liaise with site engineers, project managers, and procurement teams to obtain necessary information.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
- Professional membership (e.g., IQSSL) is an advantage.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in cost monitoring, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost control, cost planning, and budget monitoring.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Skilled in preparing cost reports, progress reports, and variance analyses.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to liaise with project teams and stakeholders.
