Role Profile
The Job Holder will report to the Chief Compliance Officer and will be responsible for supporting the implementation and oversight of the Company's AML/CFT and Sanctions Compliance Programme. Key responsibilities include conducting investigations, monitoring transactions, reviewing compliance alerts, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, sanctions obligations, and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, investigate, and escalate unusual and suspicious transactions in accordance with AML/CFT regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports, including GoAML reports and Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs), as required by applicable regulations.
- Conduct sanctions, Politically Exposed Persons (PEP), adverse media, and watchlist screening activities and follow up on identified matches.
- Support Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), periodic customer reviews, and risk-based monitoring activities.
- Review AML/CFT alerts, investigate exceptions, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Assist in the preparation of compliance reports, management information, and regulatory submissions.
- Support AML/CFT risk assessments, compliance reviews, monitoring activities, and compliance testing exercises.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to demonstrate compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Assist in implementing new AML/CFT regulatory requirements, compliance initiatives, and staff awareness programmes.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Banking, Law, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Diploma or professional qualification in Compliance, AML/CFT, Banking, Risk Management, or a related field will be a distinct advantage.
- Prior experience in AML/CFT compliance, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, GoAML reporting, STR management, compliance monitoring, or related compliance functions will be an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of AML/CFT regulations, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices applicable to financial institutions.
- Strong analytical, investigative, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to identify, assess, and escalate AML/CFT and sanctions-related risks effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
