We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as;

STAFF NURSE – INFECTION CONTROL

The selected candidate will be responsible to supporting and promoting infection prevention and control practices across the hospital, ensuring compliance with established standards and protocols. Also the role contributes to maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff while minimizing the risk of healthcare-associated infections.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with infection prevention and control policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Conduct regular ward rounds and audits to ensure adherence to infection control practices.
  • Assist in the surveillance, investigation, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections and notifiable diseases.
  • Promote and monitor hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and other infection prevention measures.
  • Maintain accurate infection control records, including immunization, accident, and surveillance registers.
  • Coordinate staff training, awareness programs, and engagement activities related to infection control.

Experience and qualifications;

  • Bachelor's degree or 3 years diploma in Nursing from a recognized institute.
  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience in the capacity of Nurse.
  • Diploma in Infection Control is preferred. Selected candidate without this qualification will be required to follow the Diploma in Infection Control.
  • Possession of PHRC or SLMC registration in nursing will also be an added advantage.
