Join our Team as a Account Manager (Merchandising Development and Bulk)
Location - Colombo 3, Sri Lanka.
Job Role
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and suppliers, building and maintaining strong working relationships while ensuring all communications meet company guidelines at all times.
- Lead and oversee both Development and Bulk Merchandising teams, managing workload distribution, team performance, training, and adherence to all relevant procedures and SOPs.
- Oversee all aspects of team members' professional progression, including coaching, discipline, and ensuring consistently excellent customer service standards across the team.
- Collaborate with Technical, Fabric, and Product departments to conduct supplier evaluations and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance.
- Manage departmental expenditure responsibly within the allocated budget.
- Keep all Standard Operating Procedures up to date and take an active role in ensuring the team understands and follows them.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the apparel industry with strong, hands-on expertise in childrenswear across babies, toddlers, and kids categories.
- Solid background in production merchandising, with exposure to development merchandising considered an added advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of UK retail brand requirements and standards, with direct experience working with Tesco being a significant advantage.
- Relevant academic and professional qualifications in apparel, merchandising, or a related discipline.
- Proven people leadership and team management experience, with the ability to lead effectively in a high-volume, high-pressure environment.
- Strong working knowledge of global manufacturing processes, supply chain operations, and sourcing capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills across both customer and supplier fronts.
