MANAGER – LEGAL (COMMERCIAL)

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Attorney-at-Law or similar qualification in Sri Lanka and Bachelor of Law/LLM in International / Commercial Law is a plus
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial legal practice
HARD SKILLS REQUIRED
- Strong understanding of US and EU legal frameworks, including contract law, compliance, and regulatory standards
- Legal drafting and negotiation expertise
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks
- Understanding of data protection and privacy laws
SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Strong stakeholder management abilities
- Collaborative team player working across legal and business functions
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements
- Provide legal support to business teams on contracts, partnerships, and transactions
- Manage and oversee commercial contracts including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements aligned with US and EU legal standards
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks in business operations
- Manage corporate governance and legal documentation
- Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities
- Support dispute resolution and handle legal claims when required
- Provide guidance on company policies, compliance, and procedures
