Clinical Pharmacist
Ninewells Hospital is seeking a dedicated and qualified Clinical Pharmacist to join our dynamic healthcare team.
Ninewells is a specialised Hospital in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Neonatology, with an excellent credibility and proven track record in Sri Lanka's private healthcare sector. With a main focus on woman and child care, we are seeking skilled individuals to be a part of the Ninewells family.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and monitoring patient medication therapy
- Identifying and preventing drug interactions, medication errors, and adverse drug reactions
- Providing drug information and clinical recommendations to doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Participating in ward rounds and multidisciplinary patient care discussions
- Monitoring antibiotic use and supporting antimicrobial stewardship programs
- Counseling patients on proper medication use, side effects, and adherence
- Supporting medication safety and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, treatment guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Assisting in formulary management and evaluation of new medications
- Conducting clinical audits, research, and staff education programs
- Contributing to emergency response and critical care medication management
Entry Requirements
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) qualification is mandatory
- Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) qualification will be an added advantage
- Valid Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) registration is mandatory
- More than 5 years of experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting
- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
