Cargo Boat Company Limited, has a proud and illustrious history dating back to its inception in 1944 as a Shipping Agency, handling vessels between Sri Lanka and the Indian Sub-continent. Since then, the company has evolved in to an International Freight Forwarding & Logistics Service Provider with a network of highly reputed logistical partners situated worldwide.
In its efforts to expand the business operation, the company is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the following position:
POST : EXECUTIVE – ACCOUNTS DEPT. (FREIGHT FORWARDING/LOGISTICS)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in day-to-day accounting operation, including accurate data entry and maintenance of records in account systems
- Maintain and organize financial records to ensure accuracy, completeness and audit readiness
- Prepare and reconcile bank statements, investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Process AP/AR transactions in a timely and accurate manner
- Record expenses, process payments and ensure proper documentation and approval
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities including reconciliation and schedules
- Assist in preparing financial reports to provide visibility to in the company’s financial performance
- Support audits and respond to audit queries as required
- Work closely with internal teams (sales/operations) to ensure accurate financial information flow and adherence to deadlines
Requirements
- Age between 25-30 years
- Qualification in CA/CIMA/CMA/AAT
- Minimum 2-3 years’ relevant experience in an accounting or finance role in the freight forwarding industry
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks or any other recognized accounting software
- Experience in bank reconciliation, AP/AR processing and financial record keeping
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS office applications
- Fluent in spoken/written English & Sinhala (any other language will be advantageous)
