Sri Lanka's newest luxury wildlife destination, Raia Lake sits on the banks of Yoda Wewa in close proximity to the iconic Yala National Park. Twelve tented suites blend seamlessly into the wilderness, pairing authentic safari adventure with pure luxury. As we prepare to welcome our first guests, we are building an exceptional team to establish Raia Lake as Sri Lanka's defining wildlife retreat.
THE ROLE
The Butler is the heartbeat of the guest experience — a trusted personal presence who transforms each stay into something extraordinary. You will be the primary point of contact for guests, ensuring every moment from arrival to farewell is seamless, personalised, and unforgettable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as dedicated personal butler, anticipating guest needs before they are expressed
- Manage the full guest journey: pre-arrival, in-suite setup, daily service, and departures
- Curate bespoke experiences — private dining, safari itineraries, and special occasions
- Coordinate with all departments to deliver consistent, flawless service
- Maintain detailed guest preference profiles to ensure continuity of personalised care
- Handle all requests and service recovery with discretion, efficiency, and genuine warmth
- Act as a knowledgeable ambassador for the property, wildlife, and Yala ecosystem
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Essential
- 1-2 years experience as a butler, guest relations host, or personal attendant in a luxury property
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent professional training
- Demonstrated ability to deliver personalised, discreet, and attentive service
- Excellent English; additional languages are an advantage
- Strong knowledge of fine dining etiquette, wine service, and in-suite F&B
Desirable
- Experience with Virtuoso, Relais & Châteaux, SLH, or similar luxury consortia
- Background in a safari lodge, tented camp, or intimate boutique resort
- Familiarity with PMS / guest preference platforms
- Pre-opening or new property launch experience (significant advantage)
