PIONEERING NETWORK AUTOMATION
SENIOR NETWORK SECURITY ENGINEER - PALO ALTO

Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Telecommunications, Computer Systems and Networking or Information Technology from a reputed University.
Firewall Experience
- In-depth experience configuring and managing Palo Alto Networks (PAN-OS) firewalls (PA Series, VM-Series, CN-Series).
- Strong understanding of security zones, policies, NAT, and routing.
- Hands-on experience with HA (High Availability) configuration and failover scenarios.
Panorama
- Experience managing devices using Panorama (centralized management).
- Template stacks, device groups, log forwarding profiles, and commit workflows.
Security Features
- Implementation and tuning of:
- App-ID, User-ID,
- User-ID
- Content-ID (Threat Prevention, Antivirus, Anti-Spyware)
- SSL Decryption
- URL Filtering
- WildFire (malware sandboxing)
Networking Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2–4 networking (TCP/IP, subnets, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
- VPN configuration: GlobalProtect, IPSec tunnels, SSL VPN.
- Routing and path monitoring for SD-WAN or hybrid networks.
Logging & Monitoring
- Familiarity with Log forwarding, Syslog, SNMP traps.
- Experience in integrating with SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, ELK).
- Proficient with ACC, Monitor tabs, and log analysis.
Operational and Administrative Skills
- Change Management
- Familiarity with enterprise change control processes.
- Ability to plan, document, and execute firewall changes with rollback planning.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
- Skilled in packet capture, session browser, CLI tools (e.g., show session all, debug dataplane packet-diagn).
- Experience resolving issues with connectivity, performance, and security policies.
Documentation & Reporting
- Ability to create and maintain clear documentation for configuration, topology, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Report creation for compliance or audit reviews.
Soft Skills & Experience
- Experience Level- Minimum 7+ years in a network/security engineer role, with direct exposure to Palo Alto Networks platforms.
- Analytical Thinking – Ability to assess and mitigate security risks based on alerts, incidents, and architecture.
- Communication Skills – Clear and concise communication for interfacing with peers, management, and customers.
- Customer-Facing or MSP Experience (if applicable) – Comfortable interacting with clients to gather requirements, present solutions, or provide support.
Desirable Experience (Advanced)
- Prisma Access / Prisma SD-WAN (Cloud-delivered security)
- Azure/AWS integrations with Palo Alto virtual appliances.
- Automation and scripting (Ansible, Python, API calls).
- Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA) familiarity.
Ideal candidate will engage on Palo Alto centered project deployments, handling change requests, and resolving technical problems within a diverse scope.
Working hours will be as per UK time-zones and calendar.
