RomeoHR is a cloud-based HR, rostering, and payroll software platform built to help businesses manage their workforce more efficiently. We are expanding our product team and looking for a skilled QA Engineer with hands-on software testing experience, especially in SaaS products.
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive QA Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in software testing. The ideal candidate should have experience testing web-based software products, a strong understanding of QA processes, and the ability to ensure product quality across new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
This role is ideal for someone who can understand product requirements, create structured test cases, identify issues early, and work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, and Management to deliver high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities
- Review business and functional requirements to understand expected system behavior
- Prepare test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on documented requirements
- Execute manual testing for new features, software updates, bug fixes, and regression cycles
- Verify that software enhancements meet business and functional requirements
- Identify, document, and track bugs clearly with proper reproduction steps and evidence
- Perform functional, regression, integration, usability, and smoke testing
- Work closely with Business Analysts and Developers to clarify requirements and resolve issues
- Retest resolved issues and ensure proper closure before release
- Prepare clear and timely QA status reports for management and project teams
- Maintain proper test documentation for tracking and future reference
- Contribute to improving QA processes, release quality, and product reliability
- Use modern tools, including AI productivity tools where appropriate, to improve testing efficiency and reporting quality
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in software testing or QA roles
- Prior experience testing SaaS products or web-based software applications
- Strong understanding of the software testing lifecycle and QA best practices
- Experience creating test cases, test scenarios, bug reports, and QA documentation
- Ability to test software against requirements and identify functional gaps
- Good knowledge of manual testing, regression testing, and defect tracking
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Good reporting skills and ability to provide prompt updates to management
Preferred Skills
- Experience testing HR, payroll, rostering, workflow, or other SaaS platforms
- Basic understanding of APIs, databases, or browser debugging tools
- Familiarity with test management tools and structured QA processes
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum development environments
- Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or note-taking tools to improve productivity and reporting quality
