WE'RE HIRING
HEAD OF ACADEMIC
ECHEM EDUCATIONS, is one of Sri Lanka's largest A/L chemistry education brands, serving tens of thousands of students every month through hybrid teaching and online classes. Our founder currently leads both teaching and academic planning – we are hiring a head of academic to take over the planning and production engine so the founder can focus on teaching and growth.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- The academic production calendar: monthly tutors, weekly review papers, and marking schemes – planned two months ahead and delivered to printing and distribution deadlines without misses.
- Batch syllabus planning built on data from past batches, adjusted as circumstances change mid-batch.
- The academic department: content, paper setting, typing, and translation teams.
- Quality and modernization of materials — clearer, more visual, more student-friendly tutors and papers, using multimedia and AI tools.
- Classroom visual support: concept image sets, presentations, and short video animations the lecturer can use in class — making concepts easier to grasp and reducing the time needed to cover a topic. Professional production skills are not required; familiarity with what these tools can do is enough; specialist teams execute while you direct the concept.
- Preparing an academic plan to about 80% completion; the founder finalizes — you arrange focused working sessions where his input is needed.
- The student academic pulse: monitoring discussion groups and class performance, surfacing concerns and improvement ideas.
- Occasional teaching support: recorded homework or paper discussions, or covering a session when needed.
- Proposing new academic products (for example, intensive programs for struggling students).
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Strong A/L Chemistry knowledge — you can personally verify the accuracy of a tutor or paper (subject consultants support you).
- A science degree (Chemistry) – awareness of Physics and Biology is helpful; students study all three subjects.
- A proven record of running deadline-driven work — projects, production, or coordination — where things shipped on time because of you.
- Fluent in modern tools: comfortable directing AI-assisted and multimedia content creation. You direct it; specialists execute.
- Fluent Sinhala and working English.
- Young, energetic, and hungry to grow with a fast-scaling company — this role suits someone who measures themselves by outcomes, not hours.
- Availability to work On-site at our Rajagiriya head office on working days (Monday to Friday).
