POSITION
ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation.
- Prepare journal entries, payment vouchers, receipts and other accounting records.
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain cash books.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements.
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Prepare statutory payments and support tax compliance activities.
- Assist with budgeting, inventory control and financial reporting.
- Liaise with auditors, banks, suppliers and other stakeholders as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Perform any other finance and accounting duties assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Passed G.C.E. Advanced Level (Commerce Stream preferred).
- Part qualification or full qualification in AAT, CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, CMA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
- Experience in manufacturing or FMCG accounting will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of inventory management and costing is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
