Position – Head of Security / Security Manager

The Head of Security is responsible for safeguarding guests, staff, and historic property assets. This role requires leading both an internal security team and third-party personnel to maintain top-tier safety, order, and loss prevention, all while upholding the hotel's premium service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Protocols: Develop and update security SOPs, emergency response plans, and crisis management protocols.
  • Daily Operations: Oversee access control, CCTV monitoring, patrolling, and crowd management for high-profile events.
  • Risk & Compliance: Conduct threat assessments and ensure full compliance with national health, safety, and statutory regulations.
  • Liaison & Investigations: Serve as the main point of contact for law enforcement and emergency services; conduct internal investigations and report findings to corporate management.
  • Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and manage the security workforce to ensure a professional, customer-centric presence.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A proven track record as a Security Manager or Head of Security, preferably within a 5-star resort, premium commercial property, or corporate environment.
  • A distinguished background in the Sri Lanka Armed Forces or Police Department (rank of Captain/Major or equivalent Inspector grade and above) will be a distinct advantage.
  • Deep knowledge of modern security systems (CCTV, fire panels, access control) and comprehensive understanding of local labor and criminal laws.
  • Excellent commanding presence with strong communication, report-writing, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to maintain a calm, authoritative demeanor under pressure.
