Senior Merchandiser - Fabric In-Charge
Candidate’s Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in the related field
- 3+ years of experience in fabric merchandising
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with buyers and development teams to secure fabric/greige booking commitments in advance, aligning with production timelines and T&As.
- Follow up and set deadlines for bulk fabric submissions to ex-mill, ensuring on-time delivery to end customers for timely comments and approvals.
- Coordinate with imports department and shipping lines to expedite consignment arrivals and minimize delays.
- Liaise with planning department and factories to identify and implement alternatives (e.g., local sourcing or air freight) in case of foreseen delays.
- Manage fabric lab dips, strike-offs, and pre-production samples, ensuring standards are within the approved range and quality standards.
- Negotiate with fabric mills and suppliers on pricing, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms to optimize costs and reliability.
- Conduct fabric quality inspections with fabric techs, proceed with base testing and approve greige for production handover.
- Track fabric inventory levels, forecast requirements based on style pipelines, and prevent stockouts or overstock.
- Prepare and present fabric status reports, risk assessments, and cost analyses reports
- Resolve escalated issues with mills, customs, or logistics, maintaining strong supplier relationships for long-term partnerships
- Own pilot yardage inspection closure, prior to Bulk fabric ex-mill
