Technician – Hanwella

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Technician to support the maintenance and smooth operation of our manufacturing facility. If you have hands-on technical expertise and a passion for keeping machinery running at peak performance, we would love to hear from you.

Key Tasks/ Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant machinery, utilities, and equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Support machinery installations, modifications, and breakdown maintenance as required.
  • Collaborate closely with the Engineering team to address operational challenges and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Respond promptly to equipment failures and emergencies, minimizing production downtime.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to machinery performance and facility infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and report technical issues to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in machinery maintenance or a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing, bottling, processing, or distillery environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of machinery, utilities, and preventive maintenance practices, with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Sound understanding of industrial health, safety, quality, and operational standards, with the ability to maintain maintenance records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
