Area Sales Manager

Are you a passionate sales professional with strong market knowledge and the ability to drive business growth at area level? We are looking for a dynamic, result driven, and commercially focused Area Sales Manager to manage and grow our sales operations across the assigned area within the FMCG industry. The ideal candidate should have solid experience in the FMCG industry, excellent knowledge of the regional retail market, and the ability to manage distributors, dealers, retail networks, and field sales teams effectively.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional who can deliver sales growth, improve outlet coverage, strengthen customer relationships, and support the development of a high-performing sales team. Within Sri Lanka.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned area.
  • Manage and develop distributors, dealers, wholesalers, retailers, and key accounts.
  • Lead, coach, motivate, and monitor Sales Executives, Sales Representatives, and Merchandisers.
  • Ensure effective route planning, outlet coverage, market penetration, and product availability.
  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing movements, promotions, and market trends.
  • Improve collection performance and control outstanding payments within company guidelines.
  • Execute trade promotions, product launches, merchandising plans, and sales activation activities.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, market feedback, and performance updates for management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, sales procedures, and ethical business practices.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 4 to 5 years' sales experience, preferably in the FMCG industry.
  • Previous experience as an Area Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager, or Senior Sales Executive will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of the Sri Lanka market, distributor network, and retail environment.
  • Proven ability to lead field sales teams and deliver results under pressure.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, planning, and problem solving skills.
  • Good understanding of sales KPIs, route productivity, collection management, and customer development.
  • Possession of a valid driving license is mandatory.
  • Willingness to work in any part of Sri Lanka is required.

Language Requirement

The selected candidate must be able to read, write, and speak English and Sinhala effectively. The ability to speak and read Tamil is mandatory.
