MANAGER- INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING – GALAGEDARA

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a passion to pursue a career in Industrial Engineering. The ideal candidate should be an energetic team player with excellent communication, a proactive attitude, ability to be self-motivated and work independently to achieve defined business KPIs.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY

  • Apply real industrial engineering in garment industry - Optimization of complex processes, systems by developing, improving, and implementing integrated systems of people, equipment, knowledge, and information
  • Maximize IE Department effectiveness by monitoring and managing IE executives’ duties and responsibilities and co-operate work with other departments in common goals and activities.
  • Total scope (one line Line-28 directs) x 24 Lines.
  • Change overs average 50 QCOs per month.
  • Reporting to IE Deputy General Manager and focus on KPIs & achieve.

Product type:

  • 100% synthetic knits Active ware, swim ware, intimates.

Methods:

  • 4M+1S optimum utilization (Methods, Man, Machines, Material, Space) optimum utilization.
  • ECRS –high focus on Eliminate NVA, Combine VA, Rearrange VA, Simplify VA methods, machines, and process.
  • Engineering workstation & re-engineering, work aids, methods and innovate.
  • GSD applying in each line each operation is essential.
  • Style simplification and method improvement - after order confirmation needs to re-analyze the evaluated garment for better and economical methods to reduce the labour cost per garment minimum profit margin.
  • Automation, modern machines, folders, guide & tool us and simplify methods.

Measures:

  • Measurements as per the IE study SOP to keep continues improvements each operator & each line capacity +5% than company standard learning Curves.
  • Assure the manning of Garment Analysis, Line feeding, Balancing, Capacity checking’s SMV changing, Skills Development:

Skills Development:

  • Skill Development (Planned trainings, focus training, cross training & Skill matrix maintaining is very important.)

Process adherence:

  • QCO critical path follow-up & process 100% focused to take change over with minimum bucket lost.
  • Must take initiative on lean manufacturing, learning of lean tools and KAIZEN implementation in the factory.
  • Maintain the audit requirements (Internal/External)

Information:

  • Accuracy of all company standard information such as Learning curve vs Efficiency Prediction, LCC & Productivity Information, Grading, Incentive, cost vs actual comparison, Intention of innovations IE Savings etc.
  • Provide department wise manpower requirement rationalization based on target strength ratio as per required.
  • Data analysis - study monthly trends of each KPI and control them after setting a benchmark.
  • Ensure to strictly abide by the social compliance’s standard stipulated by the management in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in engineering, textile business administration / management related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar capacity.
  • Knowledge in GSD.
  • Knowledge in lean manufacturing.
  • ICT literacy.
  • Ability to work as a team.
