MANAGER TRADING - KENYA MOMBASA
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as Manager Trading.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage tea procurement operations through auctions, private sales, and direct purchases.
- Conduct tea tasting, blending, grading, and quality evaluations to maintain product standards.
- Coordinate export operations including shipping, freight forwarding, documentation, and bonded warehousing.
- Monitor inventory management and ensure effective stock control practices.
- Maintain strong relationships with overseas buyers, suppliers, brokers, and industry stakeholders.
- Prepare market analysis reports, sales forecasts, operational reports, and inventory records.
- Ensure compliance with Tea Board regulations, EATA procedures, and international export requirements.
- Support business growth opportunities within the East African tea market.
CANDIDATE PROFILE :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Agribusiness Management, Food Science, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Tea Industry with strong exposure to tea tasting, blending, procurement, exports, and quality control.
- Thorough knowledge of East African teas including Kenyan, Ugandan, Rwandan, Tanzanian, and regional tea markets.
- Hands-on experience in tea buying through e-Auction platforms and direct/private sales.
- Good understanding of international tea trade practices, export compliance, and Tea Board/EATA regulations.
- Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, and relationship management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and tea industry-related systems/software.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple operational activities, and perform under pressure.
- Professional qualifications in Tea Tasting, Tea Trade, Export Management, Supply Chain, or Quality Management will be an added advantage.
- Kenyans Nationals are preferred.
