MANAGER TRADING - KENYA MOMBASA

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as Manager Trading.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Manage tea procurement operations through auctions, private sales, and direct purchases.
  • Conduct tea tasting, blending, grading, and quality evaluations to maintain product standards.
  • Coordinate export operations including shipping, freight forwarding, documentation, and bonded warehousing.
  • Monitor inventory management and ensure effective stock control practices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with overseas buyers, suppliers, brokers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Prepare market analysis reports, sales forecasts, operational reports, and inventory records.
  • Ensure compliance with Tea Board regulations, EATA procedures, and international export requirements.
  • Support business growth opportunities within the East African tea market.

CANDIDATE PROFILE :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Agribusiness Management, Food Science, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Tea Industry with strong exposure to tea tasting, blending, procurement, exports, and quality control.
  • Thorough knowledge of East African teas including Kenyan, Ugandan, Rwandan, Tanzanian, and regional tea markets.
  • Hands-on experience in tea buying through e-Auction platforms and direct/private sales.
  • Good understanding of international tea trade practices, export compliance, and Tea Board/EATA regulations.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and tea industry-related systems/software.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple operational activities, and perform under pressure.
  • Professional qualifications in Tea Tasting, Tea Trade, Export Management, Supply Chain, or Quality Management will be an added advantage.
  • Kenyans Nationals are preferred.
