We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated and dynamic individual to provide leadership for our Education, Child Protection and Inclusion programs.
1. Project Coordinator – Education, Child Protection and Inclusion
Job Summary: Provide leadership and technical oversight for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of programs that promote children's rights, inclusive education, child protection, safeguarding, disability inclusion, youth participation, and community resilience. The role requires strong coordination with government agencies, schools, communities, and development partners to ensure high-quality, child-centered programming and sustainable outcomes. Position will be based in the CDF Office in Trincomalee and reasonable travel to the field within the district and out of the district.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, Sociology, Development Studies, Special Education, Community Development, or a related field.
- A Master's Degree in Education, Child Protection, Social Development, Disability Studies, or Development Management will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in education, child protection, disability inclusion, youth development, or community development programs.
- Experience working with NGOs, INGOs, government institutions, or donor-funded projects, including project management and stakeholder coordination.
- Strong understanding of child rights, child protection systems, safeguarding, and inclusion principles; familiarity with inclusive education practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital reporting systems.
- Fluency in Tamil is essential; good command of English; knowledge of Sinhala is an added advantage.
- Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
Job Role
- Lead the implementation of education, child protection, disability inclusion, and youth development projects in line with approved plans, budgets, and donor requirements.
- Coordinate school-based and community-based education initiatives, and strengthen partnerships with schools, education authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Lead implementation of child protection activities aimed at preventing violence, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harmful practices, including community-based child protection mechanisms.
- Promote inclusive programming and equitable access for children with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
- Establish and maintain relationships with government departments, schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders; represent the organization in coordination forums.
- Ensure timely collection, verification, analysis, and reporting of project data; prepare high-quality narrative and donor reports.
- Supervise project staff, provide technical guidance and mentoring, and strengthen staff capacities on education, child protection, safeguarding and inclusion.
- Support project budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and financial monitoring in line with approved budgets and donor requirements.
- Support emergency preparedness, response, and recovery activities affecting children and communities, prioritizing child safeguarding.
- Ensure compliance with organizational safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
