nProgramme Assistant – FPA Suwa Sewa Centre – Batticaloa
nEstablished in year 1953, The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA Sri Lanka) is a pioneer institution of initiating and establishing a space for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services in the country. While its aim is to develop components related to health and wellbeing, FPA Sri Lanka also molds the quality of peoples' lives. Being in existence for 70 years, FPA Sri Lanka has made vast strides in every area of family health including family planning.
nThe Outreach Unit of the Family Planning Association provides essential SRH and family planning services to underserved, marginalized, and rural communities by reaching the unreached. Through its ten Service Delivery Points, the Outreach Unit of FPA Sri Lanka ensures that various SRH and Family Planning needs are fulfilled for various vulnerable populations.
nThe Outreach Unit is currently seeking a committed, enthusiastic young individual for the position of Programme Assistant. The post will be based in the FPA Suwa Sewa Centre Batticaloa.
nKey Responsibilities

- Directly report to the Manager of the FPA Suwa Sewa Centre – Batticaloa. n
- Assist SDP Manager in implementing all projects and programmes as outlined in the annual program budget and reach the set project targets for the FPA Suwa Sewa Centre - Batticaloa. n
- Organize and conduct all field-level interventions on the request of the SDP Manager. n
- Coordinate and organize Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE) programmes. n
- Enter service and programme data to the M&E system on time. n
- Overlook all maintenance functions of the drugs, medications and medical supplies, including storage, recording and reporting. n
- Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports of the Centre. n
- Maintain the Centre's inventory. n
- Represent FPASL in the District with the Centre Manager and in his absence. n
- Close relationship with service providers. n
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the FPA Suwa Sewa Centre Batticaloa. n
- Ensure the proper disposal of clinical and non-clinical waste materials of the Centre /Coordinate with health-related stakeholders to maximize the services. n
- Supervise and monitor the Voluntary Health Assistant programme. n
- Prepare advance requisitions, check vouchers, settlements, and other finance-related documents for the Manager's signature. n
- Any other duties assigned by the Manager. n
Job specifications

- Education: Diploma or A/L qualifications. Knowledge of Sexual and Reproductive Health is an added advantage. n
- Experience: 2 to 3 years' experience in project implementation, data entering, and official working in the NGO sector. n
- Language competency: Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and Tamil. Sinhala language competency is an added advantage. n
- IT Competency: Good knowledge on MS Office Package. n
Contract period: One year. (renewable)
