As part of our continued business expansion, we are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and committed Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
  • Prepare customer invoices, supplier payment vouchers, receipts, journal entries, and other accounting documents.
  • Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system accurately and on time.
  • Assist in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
  • Prepare supplier payments and coordinate with banks regarding payment processing.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management reports and schedules as required.
  • Maintain petty cash records and perform periodic reconciliations.
  • Prepare and assist with monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing schedules and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, auditors, banks, and internal departments on Finance-related matters.
  • Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing the required financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
  • Perform any other accounting and administrative duties assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

  • AAT Qualified or Partly Qualified in CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA, or CMA.
  • Minimum one (01) to two (02) years' experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
  • Experience in the Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Shipping, or Supply Chain industry will be a distinct advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Age below 30 years.
