Senior Accounts Executive
Carmart, a pioneer in the Sri Lankan automotive industry, is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and understand the financial nuances of vehicle importing, costing, and automotive retail, we want to hear from you.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow monitoring.
- Coordination with financial institutions, preparing and follow-up on Letters of Credit (LC's) and prepare import costing.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, financial statements, and vehicle inventory valuations.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (VAT, SSCL, Income Tax, and other local automotive/import levies).
- Liaise with banks, auditors, and Government bodies regarding financial documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Professional Status: Part-qualified in CIMA, ACCA, CA or Full AAT.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in accounting, with direct experience in vehicle imports or the automotive trade being highly preferred.
Skills
- Solid understanding of Import Customs, foreign currency transactions, and import procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software / ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Language: Excellent communication skills in English and Sinhala (both written and verbal).
