We process over 1 MILLION+ transactions per day across our systems. We are looking for an experienced and proactive Database Administrator who can ensure our data platforms are high-performing, secure, highly available and future-ready.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, configure, secure, monitor and maintain PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB databases in AWS RDS and on-premise Linux environments.
- Design and implement scalable database architectures that support high availability, reliability and performance for mission-critical applications.
- Manage 1M+ daily transactions; implement and manage backups, automated backups, point-in-time recovery.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery strategies including cross-region replication and failover.
- Set up and manage Read Replicas for scaling and replication.
- Performance tuning, monitoring, optimization.
- Write and optimize SQL queries; monitor and optimize health, performance and availability using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, pg_stat_statements and slow query logs.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps and system teams to ensure data integrity and application performance.
- Maintain documentation, standards and runbooks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a DBA.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB.
- Proven experience with AWS RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL) including Multi-AZ, Read Replicas, automated backups, snapshots and RDS security.
- Hands-on experience with Linux (CentOS/Ubuntu) server administration.
- Strong knowledge of backup, recovery and disaster recovery strategies.
- Experience with replication, clustering and high availability solutions.
- Strong SQL skills and query performance tuning.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS (NICE TO HAVE)
- Experience with MongoDB replication, sharding and performance tuning.
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, IAM, VPC).
- Experience with automation/scripting (Python, Bash).
- Experience with configuring and managing MySQL Workbench, MongoDB Compass.
- Experience with containerized databases (Docker).

LOCATION & TRAVEL
Primary Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Overseas travel required for client projects and occasional travel to the Middle East, Asia and beyond.
