Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer – Electrical / ELV / Mechanical / Plumbing to oversee and coordinate MEP and building services activities at construction projects in the Maldives. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site installations, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, international standards, and project requirements. Experience in island-based construction projects, particularly in the Maldives, is highly preferred.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a relevant Engineering field.
  • Technical certifications in the relevant engineering discipline will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of relevant site engineering experience in MEP / building services projects.
  • Proven experience in MEP installations for infrastructure, resort, hotel, high-rise, or commercial projects.
  • Experience in island-based projects, particularly in the Maldives, is highly preferred.
  • Experience in Seychelles-based projects will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of international construction standards and practices.
  • Experience working in multicultural and international construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of LV/MV electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and earthing systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in ELV systems, including fire alarm, CCTV, access control, data, and communication systems, will be preferred.
  • Good knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and other relevant electrical codes and standards.
  • Strong site coordination, problem-solving, communication, and team-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate MEP installation activities at the construction site.
  • Monitor Electrical, ELV, Mechanical, and Plumbing works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and other project teams to ensure smooth execution of site activities.
  • Inspect MEP installations and ensure proper workmanship and quality standards are maintained.
  • Monitor the installation and testing of LV/MV electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, and earthing systems.
  • Coordinate and supervise ELV system installations, including fire alarm, CCTV, access control, data, and communication systems.
  • Review technical drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and material specifications before and during installation.
  • Ensure all works comply with applicable IEC, IEEE, international construction standards, and project specifications.
  • Identify site issues, technical problems, and installation conflicts and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and monitor project progress against planned schedules.
  • Coordinate MEP works with civil, architectural, and other engineering disciplines to avoid clashes and delays.
  • Assist with testing, commissioning, inspection, and handover of MEP systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, material usage, testing, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with project quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Report progress, technical issues, delays, and site requirements to the Project Manager or relevant management team.
  • Support the successful completion and handover of MEP works within the required project timeline.
