LEGAL OFFICER
Future Life Holdings invites applications from qualified and experienced legal professionals for the position of Legal Officer. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal support across the Group, including regulatory compliance, contract and document management, legal advisory services, and risk mitigation, while ensuring that all business activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and established corporate governance standards.
JOB PROFILE
- Prepare and review title reports, mortgage bonds and other legal documents.
- Draft, review and vet agreements, contracts and related documentation.
- Provide legal opinions, advice and interpretations to the Management.
- Assist in initiating timely legal action when required.
- File legal actions against defaulting borrowers and attend court proceedings.
- Handle matters related to Land Registries and other relevant government institutions.
- Maintain accurate legal records, case files and documentation.
- Coordinate with external lawyers, notaries, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.
- Ensure the organization’s operations comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
APPLICANT'S PROFILE
- Should be an Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public with a valid licence to practise.
- Preferably below 40 years of age.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in court work, notarial work or a related legal role.
- Experience in the banking, finance, investment or corporate sector will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of conveyancing matters, title reports, mortgage bonds and security documents.
- Ability to draft pleadings, agreements, contracts and other legal documents.
- Sound knowledge of Sri Lankan laws relating to finance, lending, property and corporate operations.
- Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly and effectively.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
