Deputy Manager – Quality Assurance (Kalutara)
Responsibilities
- Lead the Quality Assurance function to ensure consistent product quality and compliance across all manufacturing processes.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve process capability, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Manage quality systems and audits, ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, internal standards, and customer requirements.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues, customer complaints, and process deviations.
- Conversant with AIAG core tools
- Monitor and improve key quality KPIs through data analysis, process control, and preventive quality practices.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen process stability, manufacturing efficiency, and product performance.
- Champion continuous improvement practices including TQM, Kaizen, QIP, and quality-focused problem-solving initiatives.
- Addressing and resolving customer complaints, improving product claims.
Requirements
Education
- NDT/Degree in Polymer Science/Chemical and Process Engineering or any relevant discipline
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in similar capacity (Preferably in Tyre Industry)
Other
- Sound knowledge in ISO 9001: 2015, IATF 16949 standards
- Practical knowledge of PFMEA, SPC and other analytical tools
- Process auditing, data analysis, problem-solving and decision-making skills
