QA Engineer

About Us
Innovis Engineering is a Sri Lanka-based technology company focused on delivering high-quality IT services and software solutions to international clients.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our team. If you have experience testing end-to-end workflows, identifying and documenting defects, and ensuring that software meets business requirements before release, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
- Review requirements and acceptance criteria: Understand business processes, expected behaviour, users, dependencies, and test conditions.
- Prepare and execute test cases: Test user journeys, acceptance criteria, validations, permissions, error handling, edge cases, and negative scenarios.
- Test in the correct QA environment: Confirm that the latest implementation has been deployed correctly and that all URLs, credentials, roles, test records, orders IDs, and other required data are available.
- Validate end-to-end workflows: Test how frontend applications, APIs, Odoo, and connected systems work together.
- Perform regression testing: Ensure new implementations do not affect existing features or related workflows.
- Report defects clearly: Create actionable Jira tickets with reproduction steps, expected and actual results, evidence, severity, and business impact.
- Verify fixes: Retest resolved defects and check for regressions.
- Manage the QA handover: Submit work for final review only after testing all acceptance criteria, resolving blocking defects, and documenting the results.
- Improve QA practices: Maintain reusable test cases, regression checklists, test evidence, and a consistent Definition of Done.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English: Comfortable reading, writing, and speaking.
- Your Skills, Not Just Your CV: Forget about traditional resumes. We’re interested in seeing your coding skills in action through a few examples of your work.
- Team Spirit: Ability to collaborate, communicate, and balance patience with assertiveness.
- Eagerness to Learn: Familiarity with Node.js, Angular, and Python is a plus, but training will be provided if you’re keen to learn.
- Attention to detail: Ability to identify defects involving data, roles, workflows, system states, and integrations.
- Hands-on QA experience: At least 3 years of experience in manual QA testing for web, enterprise, or mobile applications across multiple devices and browsers.
