Senior Programme Officer-Projects at South Asia Partnership Sri Lanka (SAPSRI), Location: Head Office, Rajagiriya, Colombo

South Asia Partnership Sri Lanka (SAPSRI) is a non-profit, development-oriented organization that has been working in the development sector since 1985 for uplifting the lives of vulnerable communities in Sri Lanka. SAPSRI is committed to building the capacities of target communities by creating an enabling environment and targeting them into sustainable development process.

Position Overview

As per the focus of SAPSRI to serve for the target communities, SAPSRI seeks an expert who can network with funding agencies and experiences in mobilizing donor funds for implementing projects to enhancing lives of vulnerable communities in Sri Lanka.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading formulation of project proposals including concept papers, project briefs etc., to mobilize funding by exploring potential funding sources,
  • Develop project proposals including budgets, implementation plan with monitoring and evaluation plan,
  • Manage and monitor ongoing projects including progress reporting to relevant donors,
  • Provide important information, events held and significant achievements of tasks under his/her purview.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports of the projects as per the donors’ and the SAPSRI’s management’s requirements.
  • Prepare terms of reference for hiring experts and consultants for projects’ work,
  • Establish links with potential sources of resources that could be harnessed for the effective implementation of the Strategic Plan and continue to maintain with national and international parties and partners,
  • Take on other functions assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications/Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Sociology, Agriculture, Environment or related subjects and Postgraduate degree from a recognized university / Institution,
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant in Project / Programme development and management in the Public and Development sector,
  • Ability to develop project concept papers / proposals in English is essentials
  • Ability to use computer software and office packages
  • Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of projects would be essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationship with donor agencies

General Conditions

  • Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Preferably age below 50 years.
  • Willing to work long hours and meet deadlines at short notice
  • Must be able to work in a digital environment and write reports in English

Contract Terms

  • All appointments are on a one-year contract basis.
  • The extension of the contract will depend on organizational requirements and the employee’s satisfactory performance.
  • Contract extensions are subject to project continuation and performance.
  • Salary: Negotiable.
