About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and performance-driven Assistant Manager Operations to support and manage overall warehouse and logistics operations at our facility in Sri Lanka. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving operational excellence, improving productivity, ensuring inventory accuracy, managing operational teams, and maintaining high service standards for customers. This role requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective management of inbound, storage, inventory, picking, and outbound processes.
- Monitor operational KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through effective coordination with Inventory Control and Customer Service teams.
- Analyze operational performance data and prepare management reports for decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, quality standards, food safety requirements, and workplace safety regulations.
- Manage manpower planning, resource allocation, and operational scheduling to optimize performance.
- Identify operational challenges and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with Customer Service, Transport, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Drive process improvements through Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure proper handling of customer requirements and achievement of agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Provide coaching, training, and performance guidance to supervisors and team members.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree, Advanced diploma or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Administration, or a related field.
- Age 25-40
- 5-7 years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong and proven ability in leading teams, delegating tasks effectively while ensuring smooth operations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Experience in cold chain, 3PL, FMCG, food logistics, or distribution operations will be highly preferred.
- Proven experience in managing teams and achieving operational KPIs.
