About Me

I’m a graduate of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, under the disciplinary of Health Promotion with a 3.48 GPA with Second Class Upper Division. Hence that I am proficient on the field of health Promotion and the community interventions. Also, I’m a graduate chemist and I’m currently enrolled in a course on “Addictive Counselling” too.

For my final year research project in Health Promotion I have conducted a research on “ Effectiveness of a Health Promotion Intervention in Promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health among the Youth at the Technical College Anuradhapura.” Also, I have won the first runners up prize at the conference of Annual Scientific Session, Anuradhapura Clinical Society.

I have engaged in many projects as project coordinator and field facilitator. Also, currently I’m engaged as a researcher to a community-based study to explore experience of female community members on “Public Place Violence against Women” Also, I’m working as field facilitator to a project with Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka to improve the health among adolescents and youths, where I gave my fullest support to improve youths’ sexual and reproductive health.

During my undergraduate period I have worked with children from 0 – 5years old and also school going children to enhance their growth and development. Also, I am currently worked as a research assistant for a research on “Child Injury in Home Environment”.

I have experience in program development and management, monitoring and evaluation, and advocating and community empowerment activities. I’m currently working as a teaching assistant to the Department of Health Promotion, there I am practicing the teaching and also developing curriculum for several courses. Also, I have good leadership and team work skills which help to work as a public health worker.

Therefore, I believe that the vacant role is very appealing to me, and I believe that my qualifications and education make me highly competitive candidate for this position. My key strength that would support my success in this position include;
